This computerized NVR solution is not just an NVR and CCTV recorder. It has many more uses and addons.
It can also run Home Assistant, which is a home automation platform. Home Assistant can control many WiFi smart switches and lights. You can use Home Assistant together with Frigate to switch on lights or sirens whenever a human is detected in a no-go zone or gets to close to a zone near a window.
Above pictures are a floor plan layout for all the lights to be controlled from a central screen or wall tablet.
(If the lights are fitted with a Smart Switch).
Creating this layout is very technical and requires photoshop and many overlay pictures.
You can even setup a monitoring server to constantly check your network devices. This also includes sending a telegram message when a device goes offline.
This is what my wall tablet dashboard looks like.
It has my Alarm keypad on the left.
Picture of the last detected Human in the top middle and some light control buttons below that.
On the right side is Alarm indications and zone statistics.
The camera statistics shows how long ago a Human was detected by that camera. In my case most of my cameras has not seen a human in more than 4 hours.
Having a tablet on the walls through out the house can give you a quick glimpse of what is going on in certain areas.
But it is not necessary to have a tablet on the wall. You can use your smart phone to quickly check some stats or just let it run.
The whole point of a smart home is to let is run by itself because it is “Smart”. 😉
